(The Harwood Institute for Public Innovation)

The 3 A's of Public Life Discussion Questions:

1. Which of the 3 A’s most resonates with you, and why?

2. Select a person, either from your personal life or a public figure, who you believe exemplifies one or more of the 3 A’s. Why did you select this person? How can you and others reflect the same characteristics in your daily work?

3. Does your organization have the kind of authority, accountability, and authenticity it needs to be a truly catalytic organization – the kind that not only achieves its mission, but builds community at the same time? If not, what can you do to change?

4. Do you believe your organization acts as part of the community? If not, what are concrete steps you can take to change that?

5. Do you believe members of the community feel you have their best interests at heart? How do you know?

6. What are three ways you can more effectively integrate the 3 A’s into your daily work, job description, and/or performance review?
