The very next day, Tom Warhover, used Rich's piece as part of his analysis of the rarity of racial discussions in election coverage. Warhover argued, whether there truly are few honest discussions of race in the area or or whether these discussions exist but rarely make the press, the local press has a role to play in bringing attention to race as a local concern.
