Maryland-based organization hires seasoned-veteran Ben Spaisman to scale and apply private sector experience for the non-profit
Bethesda, MD (April 2, 2013) - The Harwood Institute for Public Innovation announced that it has appointed Ben Spaisman as Chief Operating Officer. With more than twenty years experience building businesses and scaling operations, Spaisman provides the skills and leadership necessary to help transform and grow the Institute to create impact nationally.
“The addition of Ben to our outstanding senior management team will allow the Institute to take on strategic partnerships, spread our work across the nation, and ultimately help more communities and people achieve their aspirations,” said Rich Harwood, president and founder of the Institute. “Ben is a seasoned and trusted leader who consistently delivers results and is uniquely qualified to drive strategic direction and accountability within Harwood using a laser-focus on operational excellence.”
Spaisman has an established track record in growing organizations, implementing key business strategies, developing new opportunities, and providing insight and guiding principles in all aspects of management and overall organizational direction. He also has a history of bringing new revenue streams and partnerships to companies to allow for growth and continued development.
Prior to joining the Institute, Spaisman has been involved as founder, CEO, advisor, and Board member of a variety of private sector businesses and entrepreneurial companies in advertising/marketing services, health care, consumer packaged goods, telecommunications, as well as non-profit institutions. He holds an MBA from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from The City University of New York.
